Clearly you hope to never issue a press release with an error, however if it happens, be transparent. Don’t just correct, restate and reissue and make the reader find the difference.
Here is an example of a Corrected and Restated Press Release where the original press release was issued at 7:00am and a corrected press release was issued at 9:04am. You can easily identify what changed at the beginning (see highlighted items).
In this instance, the total was right so no change to the statements, a line item simply had inadvertently been excluded. It was put back in and we are good.
